2009 Suzuki GSX-R1000 – fully updated version of the popular liter model. The new engine was a compact (he had a 5.8 cm shorter), but increased his power.

In the traditional engine made changes: increased relevance of compression, the diameter of the cylinders become more stroke – in short, are larger titanium valves, change the form of cams and injectors with 12 holes.

Motor consists of two parts, a new exhaust system with economizer valve and catalytic converter.

A new motorcycle frame, engine, rear pendulum, and the wheelbase has become a 10 mm shorter. Accordingly modified and suspension. The front fork a new Big Piston Forks brand Showa (without cartridge) – is the same as the Kawasaki ZX-6R 2009 model year. Therefore, the forks are the same advantages: it is easier sensitive to the driver, it is less “klyuet” under braking.

Among other changes – an electronic steering damper (with increased depreciation of high speed and low depreciation of low speed in order to facilitate maneuverability), and adjustable footrests with three positions, allowing the most convenient landing in the saddle, depending on the growth motorcyclist.

As expected, the different parts of steel weigh less, and as a result of the total weight, according to Suzuki, decreased by 5 kg. Dry weight of the new machine – 203 kg.
